Conceal Weapon Course

What to bring:
- Pre-registration ticket or receipt
- Something to take notes with
- State-issued photo ID
- Do NOT bring weapons or ammunition into the classroom
- You do not need a gun to take this class
Class topics include:
- The safe loading, unloading, storage, and carrying of firearms to be concealed
- Current laws defining lawful self defense, use of force by private citizens, including use of deadly force, transportation, and concealment.
- Pistol operation
- Pistol cartridges and components
- Ammunition malfunctions
- Maintenance and cleaning
- Holster selection / concealment techniques
Other information:
- Permit valid for: 5 years
- New permit cost: 74 dollars
- Permit renewal fee: 50 dollars
- Minimum age: 21+ years old
- Shall issue to Wyoming residents only
- Class price does not include the permit application fee.
- Permits are not issued in class - you receive a training certificate at the end of class, which you must submit with your application before you will receive your permit.

Dedicated Instructors
I am a retired police officer and have been in Law Enforcement with West Valley City Police Department for 22 years. During my career I was in the Uniform Patrol for 12 years and served as a FTO officer for 3 years. I was also on the department SWAT team for 16 years and served at their team leader. I was also on Community Oriented Policing (COP) for 3 years. I also was an instructor for the Salt Lake City Community College for 10 years and also an firearms instructor for the Utah Police Academy for 10 years. I worked in Major Crimes where I investigated Officers Involved shootings, Homicide, Attended and Unattended Deaths, Child Homicide, Lost Children, and Cold Cases. I was also working with the Attorney General Office on Human Trafficking.
My firearms instructor staff and firearms instructor for the Utah Police Academy they bring in many years of knowledge and experience to the range. They can solve problem shooters to advance shooting to the students. The instructors have many years in Law Enforcement with their departments. The instructors range from Training Officers to Chief of Police.
The instructors can also reach CCW classes and also take you to the range for some trigger time, so you feel comfortable with your handgun (If weather conditions are good).
